Gordon Henderson ( http://digital.huroncounty.ca/about-the-collection/j-gordon-henderson ) ..Description: .Black and white image of class 99 of No. 12 Elementary Flight Training School. There are four rows of men in British Fleet Air Arm uniforms. The two back rows are standing, the next row is sitting on chairs, the very front row is kneeling on the ground outside on a snow covered runway with the top of an airplane and barracks visible in the background. 'Flight No. 99' appears at the bottom of the pictures. One of the pictures has had the top trimmed off. There are 4 black and white photographs (labelled a - d) and 1 negative (labelled e). During World War II, Goderich Airport hosted No. 12 Elementary Flying Training School for the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, providing initial pilot training for aircrews using the Fleet Finch.[3]No. 12 EFTS opened on October 14, 1940 and closed on July 14, 1944.
