There are two rows of men in Royal Air Force uniforms standing and sitting in front of a row of airplanes. Included in the picture are: Dan Boyle, Bob Hewson, Gord Hoben, Bill Gordon, Dick Cassidy, Parker, Bob Fulton, Don Fink, Dave Goldberg, Carter, Jack Carr, Fitzgerald, Hallam, Ed Brady, Jack Quinlan, Gilson, LAC Bill 'Tex' Hopkins, Shorty (the dog), Norm Dick, George Mennear, Vic Arnold, 'Happy' Day, F/O Jordan, F/L Steeves, F/L Harry Peters, Bill Schliehauf, 'Whitey' Menish, and Allan Otto. The negative was in a brown envelope with 1 other negative and 11 black and white photographic prints. During World War II, Goderich Airport hosted No. 12 Elementary Flying Training School for the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, providing initial pilot training for aircrews using the Fleet Finch.[3]No. 12 EFTS opened on October 14, 1940 and closed on July 14, 1944.
